The University of La Rioja is a public university created in 1992 with the aim of promoting higher education, research and innovation in the Rioja region. Throughout these 28 years, it has trained more than 20,000 professionals from different fields of knowledge. Currently, it offers 19 Bachelor’s degrees, 13 Master’s degrees and 13 Doctorate Programs. It has 5,700 students, 60 research groups, 11 Departments, 4 Faculties and two University Schools.
The EUSOT Research Group (Erosion, Land Uses and Spatial Planning) is a consolidated research group of the University of La Rioja. It was created in 2006 and is made up of professors and researchers from the areas of Geography. The lines of research are related to the study of the environmental consequences, especially hydrological, geomorphological and edaphological, that cause the management and uses of the soil.
In the LIFE MIDMACC project, UR supports IPE in the design, implementation and monitoring of adaptation measures for scrubland clearing in La Rioja. Likewise, it is in charge of monitoring the measures for conversion of scrub to vineyard in La Rioja and supports IRTA in the design and implementation of these measures. In addition to these main actions, it collaborates in other actions of the project.
