This video presents the pasture and forest management practices implemented in LIFE MIDMACC to promote the transferability and replicability of the actions. The pilot experiences are shown, and the monitoring network is presented, as for example the monitoring of the water content of vegetation as indicator of fire risk. First results of the pilots show that forest management helps to reduce the risk of fire, to generate more water in rivers and to favour biodiversity. Experiences related by livestock farmers, researcher from Greece and partners of LIFE MIDMACC about the vulnerabilities and opportunities of these practices in the mountain areas. It key for the Mediterranean countries, not only for Spain but also for Italy, Greece, Turkey, France, to find solutions to the rural population.
This video has been developed by The Pyrenean Climate Change Observatory of the Working Community of the Pyrenees in charge of the transferability and replicability of LIFE MIDMACC results.
