Discover the activities performed by LIFE MIDMACC project

On 30th and 31th of January of 2020 the NEEMO monitor who is monitoring LIFE MIDMACC project made the first annual visit. The meeting was hold i Zaragoza (CSIC headquarters). The project beneficiaries solve doubts, explain the progress and milestones achieved in these first six months and made a field visit to the experimental farm in La Garcipollera (Aragon), where the IPE-CSIC is implementing different pilots.
On 13th of December of 2019, at the IPE-CSIC headquarters (Jaca), the 1st meeting of the Regional Committee of Stakeholders in Aragon was hold. There were 25 participants from 17 different institutions and entities. In addition to know in deep the project, participants contributed suggesting improvements to the proposal and identifying barriers for project application in the territory. Small work groups were focused on the two actions which will be implemented in Aragon: (1) pasture recovery through scrub clearing and (2) forest management with extensive livestock.
On 4th of December of 2019, at the Terroba council (Valle de Leza), the 1st meeting of the Regional Committee of Stakeholders in La Rioja was hold. There were 22 participants from 15 different institutions and entities. In addition to know in deep the project, participants contributed suggesting improvements to the proposal and identifying barriers for project application in the territory. Small work groups were focused on the two actions which will be implemented in La Rioja: (1) pasture recovery through scrub clearing and (2) vineyard optimisation.
On 29th of November of 2019, at the Casa de Cultura of Girona, the 1st meeting of the Regional Committee of Stakeholders in Catalonia was hold. There were 25 participants from 22 different institutions and entities. In addition to know in deep the project, participants contributed suggesting improvements to the proposal and identifying barriers for project application in the territory. Small work groups were focused on the two actions which will be implemented in Catalonia: (1) forest management with extensive livestock and (2) vineyard optimisation.
On September 6th 2019, a first design workshop of the pilot activities in the forest area in Requesens estate was conducted. The workshop was attended by MIDMACC coordinators, a representative of the LIFE Polyfarming project and a representative of the ownership of the Requesens estate. The meeting included a field visit and allowed us to start the different tasks that we have to perform in this study area.
On the 18th of July 2019, the project kick-off meeting was held in the CSIC headquarters in Zaragoza, with the attendance of all the project beneficiaries. In the meeting we reviewed the most important goals of the project and planned the first actions starting. The project begins with a lot of energy and many illusions of all the participants!
